Diane Wiessinger is a co-author of the 8th edition of the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and author and contributing author of numerous breastfeeding resources. A La Leche League Leader since1985 and IBCLC since 1990, she is a frequent speaker, in the US and abroad, on the mechanics, behaviors, and support systems involved in successful breastfeeding.

Joy Noel-Weiss RN IBCLC PhD is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences. Joy is a nurse and lactation consultant who worked with breastfeeding women and their families in community and hospital settings. In her first career as a mom at home, she worked as a La Leche League Leader. Her research includes a randomized controlled trial testing a prenatal breastfeeding workshop designed to increase maternal breastfeeding self-efficacy, a qualitative research about ethics and lactation consultants, and an observational study looking at the relationship between maternal IV fluids and newborn weight loss. Dr. Noel-Weiss chairs the International Lactation Consultants Association's Ethics and International Code Committee and a committee for joint appointees at the uOttawa School of Nursing. Currently, Professor Noel-Weiss teaches undergraduate courses in ethics and medical-surgical nursing and she is building a research program in breastfeeding and human lactation.
